A light aircraft is understood to have made an emergency landing
A UK airport has shut down a runway amid an aircraft ’emergency’ this afternoon.
Police and paramedics are understood to be at the scene at Gloucestershire Airport following the incident.
The ordeal involved a light aircraft, which was forced to make an emergency landing.
No-one is believed to have been seriously hurt, police said.
Airport bosses said the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) and the Civil Aviation Authority have been notified.

It is not yet clear why the aircraft made an emergency landing, GloucestershireLive reports.
In a statement released just before 1.40pm, Gloucestershire Airport said: “Just a few moments ago, an incident involving a light aircraft was declared at Gloucestershire Airport (EGBJ)
“The Gloucestershire Airport Emergency Plan was immediately activated and attendance by Local Authority Emergency Services was requested.
“The Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have been notified.
“Runway 27/09 at Gloucestershire Airport will remain closed during this time and will re-open as soon as possible.
“We are unable to provide further information at this time, any updates will follow when appropriate.
“Thank you for your understanding whilst we deal with this incident.”
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “Emergency services were called to a report of an incident involving an aircraft at Gloucestershire Airport in Staverton at around 1.10pm on Tuesday, March 18.
“It was reported that an aircraft had made an emergency landing.
“Nobody was believed to have been seriously injured.
“All services currently remain at the scene.”
